01 · Why metal

Why People Choose Metal Roofing

Metal roofing costs more up front than asphalt shingles. Homeowners choose it because they want a roof built for decades, with the next replacement much farther down the road. The panels, finish, underlayment, flashing, and fasteners work together to deliver lasting protection with less upkeep over time.

Built to Last for Decades

Metal roofing is made for homeowners who want more years from their next roof. Durable panels, protective coatings, and proper installation work together to deliver decades of service.

Ready for Rough Weather

Metal roof systems are built and tested for serious weather. Secure attachment patterns, fitted trim, and strong panels help the roof stand up to high winds and hail.

Added Fire Protection

Metal panels do not ignite. With the right deck and underlayment, a complete metal roof can earn a Class A fire rating—the highest available.

Reflects More Solar Heat

Reflective finishes send more of the sun’s heat away from your roof. This reduces heat buildup at the roof surface and helps your home handle hot Georgia summers.

Made to Be Recycled

Steel roofing does not have to become landfill waste when its service life ends. It can be recycled into new steel without losing its strength.

Less Upkeep Over Time

Metal roofing does not crack, curl, or shed granules like asphalt shingles. Routine roof checks help keep the seams, flashing, fasteners, and finish working as designed.

Built as a Complete Roof System

The Details Behind a Better Metal Roof

Panel Gauge

The right gauge gives each panel the rigidity it needs for the roof design. We name the gauge in writing so you know what is going on your home.

Fastener System

Every panel needs a secure attachment path. Exposed-fastener roofs use visible screws, while Standing Seam keeps the main fasteners beneath the raised seams.

Trim and Flashing

Metal-specific trim and flashing move water around valleys, walls, chimneys, pipes, and roof transitions. These details are part of the written scope.

Deck and Underlayment

We remove the old roof covering, inspect the deck, and install the underlayment named in your proposal. Your new metal roof starts with a sound surface below it.

Metal Roofing Questions, Answered

Does a metal roof cost more than asphalt shingles?

Yes. Metal roofing costs more up front, but it is built to deliver decades of service with less upkeep over time. After the inspection, Denali puts the full roof system and price in writing so you can see exactly what you are buying.

Will a metal roof be loud when it rains?

Most homeowners are surprised by how normal a metal roof sounds indoors. The roof deck, underlayment, attic, and insulation soften the sound of rainfall—unlike the open metal roof on a barn or shed.

Can Denali install metal over my existing shingles?

Denali does not roof over old layers. We remove the existing roof covering so the deck and roof details can be inspected before the new system is installed.

Which metal roof profile is right for my home?

We help you choose the profile that looks right on your home and works with its roof shape, pitch, trim, and budget. You can compare Tuff Rib, R Panel, 5V Crimp, and Standing Seam after we measure the roof.

What is the difference between exposed and concealed fasteners?

Exposed-fastener panels use visible screws through the panel. Standing Seam conceals the main fastening path below the raised seams. The difference changes the finished look, installation details, upkeep, and price.

Does metal roof gauge matter?

Yes. Gauge identifies the panel thickness and affects its rigidity. We pair the right gauge with the profile, fastener system, and roof design, then list it in your written proposal.

What is the difference between Galvalume, WeatherXL, and Kynar?

Galvalume gives you a natural silver-gray metal look. WeatherXL / SMP offers painted color choices, while Kynar is selected for stronger long-term color retention and finish performance. We bring the current options to your home so you can see them against the brick, siding, and trim.

What warranty comes with a residential metal roof?

You will know the material and workmanship coverage before you approve the roof. Denali reviews the warranty for the selected panel, finish, and installation scope, then includes that information with your proposal.

How should I compare two metal roof estimates?

Compare the roof system, not just the total. Look for the panel profile, gauge, fastener system, finish, trim, flashing, underlayment, ventilation, deck-repair terms, cleanup, and warranty. If those details are missing, the prices do not represent the same roof.
